I dont have a system yet, I would like to know if the bulk of the systems
navigate around roundabouts in the same way as you would drive them or do UK
sourced systems default to clockwise even when using a european map?

I don't see it makes any difference. My Garmin 2610 just says "enter
roundabout, take 2nd exit" or whatever. I assume most drivers know which
way they should be going ;-)

But if you are going around a 5 exit roundabout & the system says 2nd exit,
that would be the 4th if you are coming around it anticlockwise

Probably all systems do it correctly. I can only really testify for
the Garmin systems which do it absolutely correct, it goes counter
clockwise on the mainland and clockwise in the UK.
